Opel Motorsport continues to pioneer the electrification of motorsport. Confident after the success and international acclaim of Corsa-e Rally, the world first electric rally car, Opel Motorsport is proud to launch its latest concept : Opel Mokka GSE Rally.
Opel Mokka GSe Rally is the world's first rally car developed in accordance with the new eRally5 regulations of the FIA, the world governing body for motor sport. This means that the fast electric car will be eligible for worldwide competition from the 2026 rally season onwards.
The key data of the new rally car from Rüsselsheim are impressive: a peak electric output of 280 hp and torque of 345 Newton meters, combined with sophisticated motorsport technology, promise performance close to a Rally4 vehicle.
A multi-plate limited-slip differential and a racing transmission, together with reinforced drive shafts, ensure propulsion in all situations. The chassis has been manufactured in a lightweight design. The perfectly tuned rally suspension from Bilstein consists of reinforced McPherson struts and uniball mounts on the front axle and a modified rear axle.
Electronic driving aids such as ABS, ESP and traction control are deactivated on the Mokka GSe Rally. The software tuning in the areas of engine and battery management has been designed for maximum efficiency and performance based on experience with the Corsa Rally Electric. The battery corresponds to the version used in the Stellantis Group with a storage capacity of 54 kWh.
The extremely high safety standards remain unchanged. Like the Corsa Rally Electric, the Mokka GSe Rally has a specially designed roll cage, special battery encapsulation, and additional underbody protection. The 400-volt system is continuously monitored by the proven Master Alarm Indicator. In the event of an insulation fault, a visual and audible warning system immediately signals a malfunction. Sophisticated sensors shut down the high-voltage system completely in a matter of tenths of a second in the event of a sudden deceleration, such as in an accident. The Mokka GSe Rally also has a special extinguishing system with electrically non-conductive extinguishing agent.
